Louisiana Oyster Trail Marries Culinary and Visual Arts

Louisiana Oyster Trail in Jefferson Parish is right next door to New Orleans and the French Quarter. Restaurant des Familles is one of twenty member restaurants and they are taking part in the Jefferson Parish public art program.

Did you know that Louisiana is the nation’s largest producer of oysters?

The Oyster Trail was created to showcase local artist’s work in the culinary and the visual arts. Keepers of oyster sculptures painted by local artists show the uniqueness of each participating restaurant. Restaurant des Familles displays Simon’s art on their front lawn.

In addition to their Acadian style building, they also are mobile with a food truck serving Creole and Cajun favorites.
