…while embracing simplicity and rediscovering the joy in every snapshot.
Even if you think you’re “too old” for new tech or “not creative enough,” you can take photos you’ll cherish for years to come.
Photography is the thread that weaves your life story together. And it doesn’t have to be complicated.
✔️ Without expensive gear
✔️ Without information overload
✔️ Without feeling left behind by technology
I’m Julie Diebolt Price, and I’ve been peering through viewfinders for over 35 years. My mission? To help fellow boomers and beyond capture life’s memorable moments.
It all started after I wrapped up my business administration degree. What began as a fascination quickly became a lifelong obsession with capturing images.
Over the years, I’ve been a travel photographer, documentary-style shooter, corporate and business photographer, stock photography contributor, and event photographer. These days, my real joy comes from traveling, writing about it, and teaching others to see the world through a lens.
I’ve noticed many of my students get tangled up in technical jargon and unnecessary gear. So, I’ve developed an approach that breaks it all down into digestible pieces.
I call them “Photo Bites”—small, manageable concepts that build on each other. I’ve written a few e-books about them, which you can buy here.
📸 Understand their cameras, whether it’s a DSLR, mirrorless, or the iPhone
📸 Focus on what truly matters in photography, not get lost in technical jargon
📸 Create images they’re proud to share with family and friends
📸 Rediscover the joy of travel through a photographer’s eye
📸 Build confidence in their creative abilities, no matter their age or experience level
I break photography down into “Photo Bites”—small, manageable concepts that build on each other. Many of my students are folks in their 60s or older who aren’t necessarily tech-savvy.
They’re looking for someone to guide them through the process, not just point them to a YouTube video. If you’re nodding along, thinking, “That’s me,” then we’ll probably get along just fine.
I don’t believe in information overload – we focus on what’s essential. I’m all about practical application. Theory is great, but I’d rather see you out there taking better photos. So, I tailor my approach to you because everyone learns differently.
✔️ Photography basics to give you a strong foundation
✔️ How to wrangle a DSLR or mirrorless camera so you choose the right one for you
✔️ How to shoot with your iPhone because it’s the camera that’s always with you
✔️ Understanding The Rule of Thirds and when to break it
✔️ Depth of Field (it’s simpler than you think)

At 25, I realized we make our own opportunities. That philosophy has guided me through careers as a travel photographer, documentary shooter, and now as a teacher and writer.
And my eye for detail?
That comes from years in hospitality at the New York Hilton and The Park Lane Hotel. Later, working for a destination management company in Orange County, California, taught me how to craft experiences that go beyond the ordinary. From choosing the right venues to finding lesser-known local spots, I learned that careful attention to detail transforms an ordinary outing into a memorable experience.
This background proved invaluable when I started organizing photography workshops in Italy. There’s nothing quite like guiding students through the winding roads of Umbria, finding that perfect sunset spot along the Amalfi Coast, or discovering a quiet corner in Venice where light and shadow dance together.
I’ve led workshops from Rome to Umbria, Milan to Cinque Terre, always keeping in mind that great photography isn’t just about the shot—it’s about the entire experience.
You can take the girl out of hospitality, but you can’t take the hospitality out of the girl. Whether planning a one-on-one session or organizing a group workshop, I still pay attention to those small details that transform a simple photography lesson into an unforgettable experience.
Let’s explore the world together, one frame at a time.
